Navratri Celebrations
Navratri celebrates the nine incarnations of Goddess Durga. At JAGSoM, the nine-day festivities of Navratri culminated in a carnival like celebration with students dazzling in ethnic wear and offering pujas to Lord Rama. Dhol was organized for the students to perform Garba. The energy was pulsating and so infectious that the faculties joined the students and performed Garba with them. Colourful fabrics and rangolis made with vibrant colours made the event even more pleasing for the eyes. Beautiful decorations made with flowers, ribbons, lights and lamps added to the event’s aesthetic style.

Outbound Leadership Lab (OLL)
The ‘Individual Development Plan’ of JAGSoM students is activated through experiential outbound activities and psychometric diagnosis leading to development of self-transformational activities. It nurtures all the qualities needed to be a good management professional. The program was for five days starting from October 1st and was attended by PGDM students committee wise. Value Lanes camp located in Averahalli was the place for outbound activities. The students got to learn and develop essential management skills like time management, team building, coordination, and communication.

As part of OLL, competitions were organised for the students in the evenings. The students were given an opportunity to showcase their culinary skills. The challenge was that they must come out with delicious dishes with the limited resources provided to them. PGDM Finance students who are doing a career track in Fintech made their presentation to Boni.com. The company is trying to build a hyperlocal app to onboard the unorganized sector of the market (street vendors) onto their platform to increase the vendor’s reach to the customers. After doing extensive research under the guidance of the faculty, Students have built wireframes for the product with an easy UI for street vendors to get onboarded onto the app and offer their services/products to their locality dwellers.

On 24 Aug 2022, (Wednesday) a student cohort visited Trasccon Interconnection Systems Private Limited in Bangalore. During the visit the students got an opportunity to witness the manufacturing of wire harnesses, and cabinet wiring. The student cohort had a chance to interact with one of the Directors of the company who took them through the company’s journey and overall understanding of business. Innovation & Incubation Committee of JAGSoM bought the 20th edition of Start-up Zone. This edition focused on the Fintech sector. The star in the sector, BharatPe is a QR code-based payment app for offline businessman and retailers. The app, which allows its users to accept UPI payments for free. QR code is hugely beneficial for the small merchants and kirana stores owners. BharatPe also launched the Digital Gold product in 2020 which allows users transact for 24 carat gold with 99.5% purity.

Christmas came early to JAGSOM, the students played Secret Santa in class by gifting each other. The students got into the Christmas spirit by dressing up in Christmas themed dresses and even cut cakes in class. Christmas carols and other songs were also sung to get into the Christmas spirit. Every business in this world works because someone is attracting someone to their side and see the world from their side, just like what students of JAGSOM did it in the event of TUG OF WAR, where every team tried to pull the other team to their side of the line. The event has teams from every stream from the college and every team participated with their strengths to win the war and drag the other team to their side. But there has to be winner to the war, It was the team that has more experience at the college who proved that they can not only attract people to business but can drag the people to the other side of the line and win the Tug of war against all the teams, It was our senior boys team who won the event form the boys side and on the girls side it was the PGDM A section team who won the event. At last, it was not all about the winners and defeated, it’s all about bonding that we create among ourselves.

Super Specialization in Banking
The Super-specialization in Banking for PGDM-Finance students is run jointly by JAGSOM and the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (IIBF), aimed at honing credit & treasury operational skills for making the students industry-ready for the Banking & Financial Services industry. This includes two blended certification courses– Certified Credit Professional and Certified Treasury Professional as well as ‘Learning by Solving’ Project activity with Banks/Financial Intermediaries/ Credit Rating agencies, etc. The Project activity is known as the Request for Problem (RFP) Project. During July-September 2021, RFPs under Super-specialization in Banking are with INFOMERICS Ratings, Edelweiss Finance, and Ujjivan Small Finance Bank. In connection with RFP project, virtual meetings with fruitful deliberations have taken place with INFOEMERICS - Mr. Krishnendu Sarkar (SVP); Edelweiss Finance - Mr. Anish Chowdhary (Head-Products, Marketing & PL Business-SME); and Ujjivan SFB - Mr. Kartik Bhat (Head-Research).

Lohri Celebration
Lohri is a festival which is celebrated all over India which marks the end of the winter solstice and is believed to welcome the sun on the northern hemisphere. JAGSOM celebrated Lohri in a traditional way. The festival started with a puja which was conducted by our faculty Prof. Mafruza and Prof. Parmeshwar. The students who were present circled around the fire and, as a part of the tradition which was followed by some wild dance performance by the students. The celebration concluded with special dinner.

Seed Planting Drive
Plants are an essential resource - we rely on them for food, water, medicine, the air we breathe, habitat, our climate and more. We at JAGSOM carried out a program by Planting the seeds of Tomato, Chilli etc. This program is carried out by the students during the weekends This activity was carried out at 7 different places at JAGSOM hostel. The program was conducted during the past 20 days by CSR Committee members. The committee members also distributed fruits and biscuits to Belaku orphanage, masks to people in Appayya slum, socks to Srimatha old age home, moisturizers to Uttam Ananda matri ashram.
